Made during periods of self-isolation, Awe was recorded over the course of 4 years. Even though most parts of the album were conceived in isolation, the material alternates between being outside and just being. Loosely influenced by 1970s/80s TV theme songs like The Love Boat, Awe is both a city record and an introspective one - illuminating and rapturous.

“I have this longstanding obsession with disco, especially so after moving image artist Gina Peyran-Tan requested for me to do a cover of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’ for her video art project. Boy did that take me out of my comfort zone, and I started to dissect the parts that make up a disco track. Those string arrangements, they are epic!”

From Gloria Gaynor, to one artist that she has admired all her life - Kylie Minogue - her ‘Spinning Around’ track was highly influential in the making of part of this album, and can be felt in songs like ‘I Feel On Top Of The World’ and ‘Over You’.

“I really just wanted to make tracks that I could dance and fall in love to all at the same time.”

There are also the ongoing attempts to write that perfect love song, and that can be heard on tracks like ‘Your Mind’, ‘Devotion’ and ‘How’. Spacing out to all those 80s synth sounds that she grew up with, penning lyrics that revolve around the inescapable nature of love and attraction, Awe takes the listener to a place where they would come face-to-face with their emotions.

Lead single ‘Feeling Light’ was featured on NME Asia, Bandwagon’s Hear65 and Singapore Community Radio on the week of its release. A dance-pop track about feeling light in both the mental and visual sense of the word, ‘Feeling Light’ was mastered at Sterling Sound by Grammy Award winning mastering engineer Randy Merrill, who's worked on Beck's Hyperspace, Mark Ronson's Late Night Feelings, and an inspiration for Awe - Lorde's ‘Green Light’.
